The preliminary roster for the 2025 Gold Cup training camp has been released, and it's missing several notable USMNT players. While absences like Weston McKennie and Tim Weah are understandable due to their Club World Cup commitments, others—like Christian Pulisic—appear to be sitting this one out by choice.
Even more puzzling is the exclusion of players like Josh Sargent and Paxten Aaronson. Personally, I would have at least brought in the younger Aaronson, who’s been showing real promise.
With the 2026 World Cup fast approaching, this roster does raise some concerns—especially given the lack of intensity the team showed in the last international window. That said, I'm not as alarmed as some others seem to be. I’m hopeful that the players who did get the call will rise to the occasion, fight for the crest, and bring the energy and heart we’ve been missing.
