Rescue number 90. In just over two years, our volunteer search group has documented 90 hum@n rem@¡ns sites in the desert. When Battalion Search and Rescue began in 2020, we were finding about 10 sites per year. Since expanding our work in Arizona and New Mexico, that number has accelerated. We are a small team. Majority women. No government funding. No formal mandate. There is no agency actively searching for people who d¡€ in these corridors. If we do not go looking, many remain where they fall and slowly disapp€r. We consider these discoveries rescues. Because in the desert, disappearance is the final v¡ol€nce. Yesterday marked our 90th.
