• Koh Lipe: a tiny island is near the Malaysian border, clear water, great snorkelling and a more remote feel than the usual islands. Best visited: Nov–April
• Koh Jum: Slow, sleepy island between Krabi and Lanta. No big resorts here, just simple bungalows & empty beaches. Best visited: Nov–April
• Surin Islands: off-grid National park islands with some of the best snorkelling in Thailand. You’ll need to plan ahead (I have a reel with the details) Best visited: Nov–April
