Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and his son, Arjun, became the first father-son duo to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday after Arjun made his debut for Mumbai Indians.
Sachin, 49, who retired in 2013 as international cricket’s most prolific batsman with 100 centuries, played six seasons with Mumbai and is currently the team’s mentor.
In his IPL debut, 23-year-old Arjun opened the bowling against Kolkata Knight Riders, in the Mumbai Indians’ convincing win.
After the game, Sachin took to Twitter to say that, “this is the start of a beautiful journey,” for his son.
