MIT Men’s Soccer Head Coach Ken Bovell Announces Retirement Ken Bovell has announced his retirement as head coach of the MIT men’s soccer program, effective June 30, 2026, concluding an impactful tenure that began in 2015. A two-time NEWMAC Coach of the Year (2015, 2021), Bovell led the Engineers to an 84-68-28 record, highlighted by two NEWMAC regular-season championships, eight conference tournament appearances, and a 2015 season that saw MIT advance to the NCAA Third Round while breaking 11 program records. Widely respected for his leadership and commitment to excellence on and off the field, Bovell guided the development of multiple conference award winners, All-Americans, and Academic All-Americans during his time in Cambridge.
