The second day of peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Geneva were substantive with some progress, according to Rustem Umerov, the secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defence Council. A number of issues were clarified, Umerov added, saying that Ukraine's goal remained a just and sustainable peace. The talks in Switzerland ended abruptly on Wednesday after only two hours, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy saying that the discussions had been "difficult" and accused Russia of deliberately seeking to delay progress toward a deal to end the four-year-old conflict.
