Lent isn’t about punishment, and it isn’t about proving discipline. It’s about alignment. The 40 days of Lent represent the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness. Before the miracles, before the ministry, there was silence and surrender. Lent invites us into that same posture of reflection and intentional sacrifice. This year, I’m giving up unnecessary scrolling. I want to be clear: I’m not stepping away from posting or creating. I’ll still be here every day, and I’m genuinely grateful for social media. It’s allowed me to connect with people I never would have met otherwise, and it’s given me a platform to share messages about faith, discipline, performance, and everything I’m building. That part is a gift. But the mindless consumption, the constant stimulation, the reflex to check my phone without thinking is what I’m removing.
