🦚 Purple, green and gold have us feeling very Mardi Gras! 🟣🟢🟡 Peacocks wear these iconic colors like royalty — and they’re not shy about showing them off. Being bold and flashy actually makes males more attractive to females. Each year, they grow a brand-new train of tail feathers and put on a dazzling, vibrating display — called train rattling — to show off their health and fitness. The peacocks that roam our grounds tend to stay cozy indoors during colder days, but once things warm up, keep an eye out. You’re likely to spot them strutting their stuff along the boulevards of the Detroit Zoo.
