#TerrierTakeover: Meet Meklit Abel (bu_cas ’28). Coming from Malden, Massachusetts, Meklit is deeply involved in the BU community even as a transfer. She is currently majoring in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, & Genetics with a minor in Fine Arts. At BU, Meklit serves on UMOJA’s Social Media Committee and is a member of HerCampus, the National Society of Black Women in Medicine, the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students, the Pre-Dental Society, and the CAS Advocacy Committee. In her freetime, she enjoys drawing, creating art, dancing, and spending time with friends. When asked what advice she had for fellow terriers she said: “Be intentional about the spaces you choose to step into. Find communities that challenge you, support you, and allow you to grow.
