Benedict College proudly celebrated Black History Month with our annual Salute to Harambee, a cherished tradition centered on unity, culture, and shared heritage. Held at the Swinton Campus Center, students, faculty, and community members gathered for an inspiring program featuring drums, songs of thanksgiving, musical prayers, and performances from our instrumental ensemble and choir. “Harambee,” meaning “pull together,” continues to guide our campus community. This year, we reflected on the life and legacy of Greenville native and civil rights leader Rev. Jesse Jackson, whose work began in South Carolina.
