“Art X Fashion” at museumatfit (MFIT) explores the entangled and shifting relationship between fine art and fashion, from the drama of Rococo and Neoclassicism to the bold experimentation of Surrealism, Pop Art, and postmodernism. Organized by Dr. Elizabeth Way, curator of costume and accessories at MFIT, the exhibition features over 140 garments, accessories, textiles, photographs, and artworks from the museum’s permanent collection that challenge traditional hierarchies of visual culture and position fashion and art as parallel, influential expressions of social, intellectual, and creative forces. “Art X Fashion” is on view through April 19, 2026.
