President Trump has nominated former Rep. Steve Pearce to lead the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, where Pearce would be in charge of 245 million acres of public lands.
This is terrible news. 😵💫
Pearce spent years in Congress attacking public lands across the United States. He's long called for shrinking and selling off public lands to private and corporate interests.
His appointment, if confirmed, would be catastrophic for the agency, the communities it serves, and the landscapes it’s meant to manage and protect.
Keeping public lands in public hands starts with rejecting Steve Pearce—an extremist who has focused on benefiting developers and oil and gas companies over the American people.
We can't let him oversee this agency. You can join the fight to stop him.
Please, take a moment to urge your senators to oppose Steve Pearce as director of the Bureau of Land Management. ➡️
