tsuruforsolidarity ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿฝ February 19, 2026 marks 84 years since President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, authorizing the forced removal and incarceration of more than 125,000 Japanese Americans and Japanese immigrants to a network of more than 75 concentration camps and detention sites across the U.S. Day of Remembrance observances began in the 1970s, when our Japanese American community began gathering to commemorate the experiences of our elders, to rebuild community bonds, and to demand justice from the US government for its actions during World War II. We honor our ancestors by standing as a united front with our neighbors who are the targets of state violence now. Together we will abolish ICE and end the largest immigrant concentration camp system in the world. Join hands with us. Kodomo no tame ni. For the sake of the children. #StopRepeatingHistory #japanese #asian #immigration #concentrationcamp
