We were deeply honored to welcome civil rights activist and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Sylvia Mendez as our keynote speaker. A true civil rights trailblazer, Sylvia’s family’s landmark case, Mendez v. Westminster, helped pave the way for Brown v. Board of Education and forever changed the course of history in this country. Traveling from California to be with us, Sylvia shared her extraordinary story of courage, resilience, and justice.
