We say DJDS is a mishpacha a lot, and this is just one of many examples of why. On Wednesday, Rosh Chodesh Adar, our Upper Division community came together for a meaningful VIP Day and B’nai Mitzvah Celebration (Year of 5785) honoring our 7th and 8th graders who recently became B’nai Mitzvah. Parents, grandparents, siblings, and other special guests joined us for a morning that felt both personal and communal. The day began with refreshments and schmoozing, followed by a beautiful service celebrating this important milestone, complete with the newly B'Nai Mitzvot coming up for aliyot, student Torah readers, and a lively rendition of "The VIP Game." Guests then joined classroom rotations, experiencing learning alongside students and getting a window into Upper Division life. Many wrapped up the morning by checking out students for lunch, extending the time together beyond school walls.
