Police in suburban Arlington Heights Thursday morning asked community members to stay away from a residential neighborhood "until further notice" as officials worked to investigate a home invasion, with police saying an armed burglar entered a house in broad daylight while the homeowners were inside.⁠ ⁠ The incident began about 7:33 a.m. as police responded to a burglary in progress in the area of 800 N. Chestnut Avenue. According to a preliminary investigation, an armed man entered a residence with two homeowners inside.
