The Central Michigan Women's basketball team (16-9, 10-4) fell to Miami (OH) (21-5, 12-1) 65-53 in a tough matchup Wednesday evening. Despite the loss, it was a big night for guard Madi Morson, who scored her 1,000th career point. ⁠ ⁠ "Madi is a phenomenal player,” head coach Kristin Haynie said. “Some of the skillset that she has you can’t teach.”⁠ ⁠ Morson is also the fastest Chippewa to reach this milestone, an impressive achievement for the sophomore out of Canton, Michigan. ⁠ ⁠ Morson led the Chippewas with 17 points, followed by sophomore forward Ayanna-Sarai Darrington, who had 14.
