Veteran defensive lineman Deante McCray is preparing to have a successful 2026 season for the Florida State Seminoles. McCray came over from Western Kentucky last offseason, but was only able to record 25 tackles (4.5 for loss) and one sack in 2025 in a defensive lineman that underperformed under Tony White’s scheme. The redshirt senior is listed at 6’4” and 287 pounds and is more capable of handling defensive tackle duties with the likes of other veterans such as Daniel Lyons and Jordan Sanders. The program didn’t add many defensive linemen in the transfer portal, other than Texas State’s Jordan Sanders (mentioned above) and Texas A&M’s Rylan Kennedy.
