The search for 2-year-old Genesis Nova Reid of Enterprise began around 3 a.m. Feb. 16 when her mother, Adrienne Reid, 33, reported Genesis missing from her bed and the door to the home open.
Through further investigation and interviews, detectives concluded Genesis had not been seen for several weeks. Adrienne was charged with giving law enforcement false informtion.
According to Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox, the prosecution argued that given Adrienne’s testimony, she is the only known suspect in the disappearance of the child.
Adrienne is believed to have hidden or destroyed evidence and has been determined a flight risk. A higher-than-usual cash bond of $1 million was imposed by the judge.
Cadaver dogs were brought in for the third day of the search of a wooded area surrounding the apartment where Genesis was reported missing. Nothing turned up.
