An Olympic uniform rooted in history 🥇🥈🏅
Team Mongolia’s Olympic uniforms are once again turning heads🔥
Created by Goyol Cashmere (
goyolcashmere.mn) for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan, the designs draw on the deel, a garment worn across Mongolia for centuries. Its long, wrapped form and high collar—lined with yak down for extra warmth—reflect life shaped by climate and a nomadic lifestyle.
The fur-trimmed hats frame the face and add height, echoing historical Mongolian headdresses. Long strands of beads seen in the contemporary headwear recall the extended beadwork of a 19th-century Mongolian headdress in our collection.
Across centuries, Mongolian fashion has marked important moments through bold color, height, and ornamentation. The Olympic stage is another such moment!
