Two years ago today, Laken Riley was tragically murdered while out for a run in Athens near the University of Georgia campus. Laken was a 22 year old nursing student whose life was taken far too soon. She was killed by Jose Ibarra, who was arrested and charged in connection with her death. Her murder shook the Athens community and the entire state of Georgia. Today we remember Laken for who she was, a daughter, a friend, a student with a bright future ahead of her.
