Newspaper History: Day 7 of 9 📰 North Loop Park sits on what was once a surface parking lot in Minneapolis’s historic North Loop neighborhood. After years of community advocacy, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board purchased the site in 2021, filling a long-noted gap in neighborhood green space, and has been working with local residents to transform it into a vibrant half-acre park that honors the area’s warehouse district heritage while providing a new public gathering place. Continued improvements are coming for North Loop Park over the next couple years with plans for a plaza and stage.
