Violent clashes broke out in Tirana as protesters demanded the Albania Prime Minister’s resignation over corruption allegations.
Demonstrators hurled petrol bombs and fireworks toward government offices, while police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse crowds.
Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has been indicted over alleged interference in public tenders. She denies the charges.
Albania is aiming to join the European Union by 2030, but the bloc says the country must strengthen efforts to tackle corruption.
Police say around 30 people were arrested, while the opposition claims about 40 supporters were detained.
