In 1993, the British tech series Bad Influence! took viewers behind the scenes of Back to the Future: The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood — a place few guests ever got to see. During the visit, host Z. Wright explored the attraction from the inside out, examining both its cinematic storytelling and its complex engineering. He moved through the Institute of Future Technology preshow, entered the ride control room where the attraction was monitored and operated, stepped inside the massive Omnimax Dome theater, and visited the film projection booth. He also went beneath the DeLorean simulator vehicle to inspect the powerful hydraulic motion base system that delivered the ride’s groundbreaking movement. Within the storyline of the attraction, Doc Brown sends the DeLorean party in pursuit of Biff Tannen, launching riders into the future to 2015, back to the Ice Age, and even into the heart of an active volcano in primeval Hill Valley.
