#NHLPC Pick-Review: Matthew Beniers of the Seattle #Kraken - Matthew Beniers might not be a game changer, or a flashy crazy high-upside player like most 2nd overall picks. But he is a force offensively and defensively who aims to be a high end two-way center in the #NHL. When I think of Matthew Beniers I think of escapability and possession. In the defensive zone and through transition Beniers is a wizard in hanging onto the puck, escaping and evading forecheckers to keep possession and quickly gets the play heading in the right direction. He is a great skater, he can turn on a dime which is a huge reason he’s so good at evading players. Offensively, Beniers is a playmaker, his high IQ and vision make him a constant threat to find high-danger and royal road passes but he does possess an underrated and accurate wrist shot.
