today makes one year of me in los angeles the city i never wanted to live in but i’ve somehow found myself a semi-permanent fixture in. a city that makes me kind of uncomfortable and gives me the worst road rage anyone has ever seen. a city, that despite making me feel like i stick out like a sore thumb in all the wrong ways, has somehow taught me three lessons that i otherwise may have never learned: 1. home is not a place, it is a person. and sometimes that person is yourself. 2. you can, in fact, be a good person whilst simultaneously living in LA. 3. being yourself does not mean being a version of yourself that others want or expect you to be. and if others don’t like who you are, that’s okay. not everyone’s going to, not everyone has to. only you have to. anyway, here’s to taking chances and being pleasantly surprised with the outcome. to a few more years out here and then getting my ass back to new york city 🥂 #imhereforagoodtime #notalongtime
