Days after Eric Dane died on Feb. 19 following a battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), the journalist shared how the 'Grey's Anatomy' alum's passing left her with a heartbreaking reminder. "Eric and I were scheduled to have lunch two weeks ago, but he wasn't feeling well that morning, so we rescheduled for next week," Maria explained in the Feb. 21 edition of her 'Sunday Paper' newsletter. "His passing is another powerful reminder that today is all any of us have. Next week isn't guaranteed." Maria and Eric—who shared kids Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, with estranged wife Rebecca Gayheart—had been in touch after the actor began working with her Penguin publishing imprint on his upcoming memoir, 'Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments,' which is being released Nov. 3.
