Studies have found that typically museum visitors spend about 28 seconds looking at great works of art. But for “Unsupervised,” an AI-created installation, the average was 38 minutes, says creator Refik Anadol. “Unsupervised” is a 24-foot-high installation that filled the lobby of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. “I think people found it deeply satisfying,” says Glenn Lowry, who was MoMA's director at the time of the exhibit.
