China said it would support a Hong Kong-based firm in challenging the ‘unlawful’ removal of its right to operate two ports on the Panama Canal. CK Hutchison’s concession on the canal was recently annulled by Panama’s supreme court. China and the US are the main users of the canal, with 40% of US container traffic moving through the 80km waterway.
