4,000 drugs. 18,000 diseases. Millions of possible matches. AI is now being used to scan the world’s knowledge of approved medicines — systematically uncovering hidden cures that could transform patients’ lives. Repurposing existing drugs is faster and less costly than developing new ones, but because it isn’t profitable, most opportunities go untapped. AI changes that equation by identifying the most promising drug–disease pairs at scale. This groundbreaking work led by David Fajgenbaum, MD, MBA, MSc and his nonprofit, Every Cure is helping ensure that no potential treatment is overlooked. We’re proud to support this work through our #RareAsOne Network. Check out David’s full TED talk: go.ted.com/davidfajgenbaum
