“I realized I could either accept that there was no hope—or I could create it.” David Fajgenbaum, MD, MBA, MSc was diagnosed with a rare and life-threatening disease in medical school. When no effective treatment existed, he searched for answers himself—and found hope in an unexpected place: a drug originally developed for another condition. That discovery saved his life.
