The U.S. Justice Department filed a lawsuit against the UC Board of Regents this morning, alleging that UCLA administration “turned a blind eye” and facilitated antisemitism in violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. The complaint cites allegations of antisemitic violence and harassment that Jewish students and faculty at UCLA have been subjected to — including antisemitic and anti-Israel graffiti, swastikas and targeted violence — following the Oct 7. Hamas attacks. “Based on our investigation, UCLA administrators allegedly allowed virulent anti-Semitism to flourish on campus, harming students and staff alike,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi in a press release.
