#HabitatUncoveR3D with Nicki Meharg (morlo_wildlife) Cinematographer Nicki Meharg spent two and a half months in Egypt on a self-led expedition, combining filmmaking with field research. Partnering with an eco dive resort, she produced marketing films while securing dedicated time to capture high-quality footage for future conservation storytelling. Working across open ocean and benthic environments, Nicki filmed sharks, rays, and dugongs alongside smaller, often overlooked species. The project demanded constant adaptability, capturing behavior, habitat, and scale in challenging and changing conditions. Extended time in the water also allowed her to test and refine a suite of specialist underwater equipment developed over the past year. Shooting on the RED GEMINI in a Nauticam housing system, Nicki paired her setup with a range of tailored lenses to suit each environment.
