Jody Jones from Tulare County stood alongside President Donald Trump on Monday during Angels Family Day, an event recognizing families who have lost loved ones in crimes involving people in the country illegally.
Jones said his brother, Rocky, was shot and killed by an illegal immigrant.
Jones has shared his family’s story publicly and described him as speaking “for families who feel forgotten by politicians who apologize for criminals instead of standing with victims.
The Tulare County GOP said it was standing “with Jody and every Angel Family” and tied the event to support for Trump’s border policies, saying it was “championing President Trump’s policies that secure our borders, uphold the rule of law, and keep our homeland safe for law-abiding citizens.”
