Min Hee-jin held a press conference and proposed to HYBE:
She said she would give up the 25.5 billion KRW (about $18M) put option she stands to gain from winning the lawsuit — if HYBE agrees to halt all ongoing legal actions.
The lawsuits she referenced include various criminal complaints and civil cases filed against herself, NewJeans members, external partners, and even the fandom.
Previously, on February 12, the court ruled that HYBE must pay Min 25.5 billion KRW. HYBE appealed the first ruling and filed for a stay of enforcement on the payment. The request was accepted, meaning enforcement of the put option payment is currently suspended.
There were also recent reports claiming that last year Min met with a wealthy Japanese investor to seek funding, with NewJeans members allegedly present. Min denied this, suggesting the claims were reverse-viral tactics following her legal win against HYBE.
