Eddie Robinson’s legacy lives on in a dozen halls of fame. He led 57 teams to 408 victories, one of the top three win totals in nearly 160 years of college football. He finished with a 408-165-15 record at Grambling State, winning eight Black national championships and 17 SWAC titles. Robinson sent more than 200 players to NFL camps, including Paul “Tank” Younger, the first professional player from a historically Black college, and coached Hall of Famers Willie Davis, Charlie Joiner, and Buck Buchanan, along with Doug Williams, the first African American quarterback to lead a Super Bowl-winning team.
