LATERAL CHAIN TRAINING 🧰
Training the lateral chain is essential for hip, low-back, and knee health because it provides side-to-side stability that keeps the pelvis level and joints properly aligned during movement. When the lateral chain is weak, the pelvis drops, the femur collapses inward, and the spine is forced to compensate, increasing stress on the lower back and driving knee valgus that can lead to pain or injury. A strong lateral chain helps center the hip in the socket, gives the knee a stable path to move through, and allows forces from walking, running, and lifting to be absorbed and transferred efficiently. This reduces strain on passive structures like ligaments and discs and creates more resilient, pain-free movement overall.
EXERCISES TO BUILD A POWERFUL LATERAL CHAIN ⬇️
1. Copenhagen Plank (short → long lever)
Builds adductor strength, improves hip centration, and supports knee health.
2. Lateral Explosive Lunges (push hard back to standing)
Develops frontal-plane...
