We usually expect God to show up with a hammer. Instead, he showed up as a sacrifice. When the world is broken, our instinct is to look for a Warrior to crush the opposition. But Jesus is introduced as a Lamb. He doesn’t solve the problem of human messiness by shouting from a distance; he solves it by taking the weight of it on his own shoulders.
