call me crazy but I’m lowkey excited for this stretch of nights. There’s something so powerful about being a stabilizing force for somebody in crisis in the middle of the night. This is literally what I decided to go into Psychiatry to do! I’ll be working 5 overnight 12hour shifts in a row (8pm-8am) with 2 days off, which is better than most residency programs who do 6 days on, 1 day off for night float! At my program we have a ton of autonomy and actually don’t have to staff each patient case with an attending which is kind of wild, so it’s just literally me leaning into my training to make these potentially life or death decisions for patients I’m excited to really hone in on my Emergency psychiatry clinical decision-making and see if this could be a potential future subspecialty career for me, plus I find it fun to get to interact with the emergency med docs to collaborate on a plan :)  #EmergencyPsychiatry #EmergencyMedicine #MedicalSchool #MedicalStudent #Premed
