I had an extremely hard time picking a specialty to commit my entire life to. I always have been interested in psychiatry and I majored in psych/neuro in college, but witnessing the magic of the OR and the mind blowing procedures that left me awe-inspired by this incredible field of medicine almost swayed me. . These operations can seem almost superhuman, and I found myself day after day moved at what we’ve been able to achieve as mere humans on a surgical team. . I found the emergency scenarios and fast-paced pharmacology thrilling, and I was inspired daily being surrounded by brilliant surgeons in every respective discipline working together to make a difference in the lives of their patients. .
