I get asked all the time if medical school is as hard as people make it out to be. In my experience it is hard, but not for the reasons I had anticipated. Third year you feel so incompetent starting each rotation it’s painful. You do end up learning and growing a TON, but you really have to stay strong to survive the chaos of M3. . But not everybody has the same experience in medical school; for some of my roommates, third year was totally manageable! I’ve also talked to students who said the first 2 preclinical years were the worst for them, meanwhile I found that time studying super flexible and the learning (semi)enjoyable. . As a content creator I know my videos may sometimes glamorize life in medical school, so trying to be transparent with how much of a struggle M3 truly was for me. .
