I’ve been on-camera in a professional capacity for more than a decade now. (TV news, podcasting, etc)
But whenever I get my picture taken… I fall to pieces. It’s like I forget who I am and what I’ve accomplished.
I’ve been working on this a LOT the past few months. Beating my imposter syndrome.
Imposter syndrome is the inability to believe that your success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved as a result your own efforts or skills.
It’s the fear of being found out.
Here are two things I do before I put myself in a situation that’s likely to invoke imposter syndrome:
1. Watch old videos from festival interviews, my podcast, or my TV days.
2. Bullet journal all the things I’m really good at and recent accomplishments.
Imposter syndrome is like amnesia, and sometimes we just need a reminder of who TF we are.
