Happy women’s history month 🩷 here to remind anybody who’s confused that what we choose to wear in our free time has zero bearing on our intelligence or ability to perform in the workplace. . I can both be in touch with my femininity & sensuality AND be a great doctor. The same goes for nurses, teachers, lawyers, restaurant staff and everybody in between. This purity culture that places moral value on how we present ourselves and shames us into hiding parts of who we are needs to go. . Would I wear this outfit into the hospital? Absolutely not! When I’m at work my focus is entirely on patient care. I wear the same scrubs to the hospital every day with no makeup (not that it matters), so music festivals are a place where I finally feel FREE to be truly me. . “What if patients search you and see you dressed like that?” - Then they’ll see I’m a multifaceted, balanced and happy human who loves to express myself through music, fashion and dance, who also happens to be a doctor.
