Some stats I saw on doximity recently. Unfortunately many med students who do truly want to go into primary care ultimately decide against it due to salary. Meanwhile we have a national shortage of primary care physicians :/ . I’m so grateful that social media has allowed me to take on much less debt and that I went to a cheap state school for college that my parents helped me pay for so I didn’t need to take out undergrad loans. The cost of a medical education truly is absurd in this country! . I’m a French dual citizen and my parents were really pushing me to go to medical school in France since it’s free and it’s amazing to think of what a different life I would be leading right now if I had done that.
