It’s easy to forget how much of an impact your presence can have on patients. For us healthcare workers, it’s just another day at work, but for them it’s a huge life event that they may be terrified for. . The OR, pre-op, and hospital in general can be an intense, anxiety-inducing place to be. On top of that you never know what people have gone through in their lives so it’s critical to always approach patients in a trauma-informed manner. .
