Fan photos are the best and here’s why: A quick backstory. I took this photo right before taylorswift went on stage. Jennifer Lawrence had just entered the VIP section and of course the Hunger Games salute was only appropriate. I saw that a fan had a red 13 on their hands with red nails doing the salute. It was the most 2012 thing I ever saw so I snapped the photo. I loved how the photo was edited and knew that I could not just keep the photo to myself. I decided to post on my TikTok and ask my followers, the Swifties, and Hunger Games stans if we could find the woman in the photo. Not only does the video blow up, we were able to find the woman in the photo in less than 2 hours! I’m still blown away by this. The internet is a wild place. Fan engagement and fandoms are the reason why I have been able to thrive so far as a concert photographer. They are the reason why the music industry is what it is today.
