This post is for anyone who helped another person during the attacks on 9/11. Firefighters. Police. Civilians. Doctors. Nurses. Anyone. You taught me to step up in the moment and to be there when someone really needs it. Everything changed that day, but you were like superheroes. I remember my instinct was to help, but feeling completely helpless. As a stupid 19 year old kid, it changed me (I didn’t know it then) from “whoa, what’s going on over there?” to “ hey, how can I help?” I at least try to do that - to this day - because of your inspiration. Take the time to share your thoughts and feelings about 9/11 with someone who may have been too young to remember the impact and and humanity of it all. Everything changed that day.
