Joy in the Winter Now, don’t get me wrong, the winter months in the U.P. aren’t always sunshine and rainbows BUT there are many many many fun and joyous things to do if you’re looking. One big thing I hold on to is finding a reason for the snow to be around. When I say snow, I mean snow. Last year, the Keweenaw Peninsula received 315+ inches of snow in the 2024-25 season. Nope, I’m not joking. That’s equal to 26 feet. So number one thing is finding peace with the amount of snow and getting excited for it! Sledding? Yes. Snowboarding? You know it! Shoveling? Well, that one isn’t really an option so sure haha. The other things listed really add a touch of joy in my life.
