Shrestha’s artistic journey as a muralist and illustrator is inspired by her upbringing in the culturally vibrant city of Patan, Nepal. She has been actively engaged in the street art scene in Nepal since 2011, is a member of the illustrators’ collective Virangana Comics, and contributed to Nepal’s first all-women comics anthology The artist blends traditional Hindu and Buddhist figures and iconography with the animation style prevalent in the West during the 1990s and beyond, including The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter’s Laboratory.
