#AAPIHeritageMonth highlight! This month is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and we’re taking the time to highlight some of the artists on view in “Reimagine: Himalayan Art Now.”
Have you ever wondered what the heart of the Rubin is? According to John Tsung (
@johntsungmusic), it’s the Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room!
In “Divine Generation” artist John Tsung reimagines the Rubin in its totality as a living, breathing being, integrating the central staircase (spine), building (bones), visitors (nervous system), and Tibetan Buddhist Shrine Room (brain/heart) into a single work. The building is transformed into a divine being, with the visitors as divinities within a divine superorganism.
Visit “Reimagine: Himalayan Art Now” to experience John Tsung’s installation, on view through October 6, 2024.
